Help for New Residents
Letter from Mayor Joshua L. Mandell
Welcome!
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, our Staff and all who serve on Village committees, boards and commissions, welcome to Larchmont.
You have joined our 6,500 residents in a village, located just outside of the New York City metropolitan area, where we take particular pride in our efforts to preserve a small-town community atmosphere. Our Staff is small and responsive. Our volunteer organizations are strong and energetic. And the Village government makes a point of sponsoring a calendar of community events intended to bring people together. So, thanks to the efforts of our many volunteer committees and boards, you can participate in activities such as:
- Our Arbor Day celebration
- Our Fall Art Show
- Big Trucks Day at the Library
- Flint Park Summer Day Camp
- The July 4th Festivities
- The Memorial Day Parade
- The Ragamuffin Halloween Parade
- Thursday Night Outdoor Summer Concerts (usually in July)
- and the famous Tour de Larchmont Bike Tour, to name a few.
We invite you to browse our site map to find out about life in Larchmont, our schools, recreation programs, sanitation collection, etc.
Finally, you are always welcome to attend or watch the televised meetings of the Board of Trustees, the Village's governing body, held generally once a month at 7:00 PM in Village Hall.
We hope you will enjoy everything our Village has to offer, and will in turn contribute to its texture and well-being. We look forward to seeing you at our many community gatherings.
Sincerely,
Joshua L. Mandell
