Important Tax Payment Information:

Please view our Tax Payments FAQ's for important tax payment information. This information is also attached to every tax bill mailed out.

Owner Responsibility:

Per New York State statutes, the property owner is responsible for paying their property taxes and failure to receive a tax bill does not alleviate that responsibility. For more information on tax penalties, visit the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance

Information for New Property Owners:

Property owner information is recorded with the property's deed. The deed of a property is filed and is on record at the Westchester County Clerk's office. It contains the property’s legal description, official property address, and owner(s). This is the case for all properties situated in Westchester County. The information contained on this document is used by all municipalities for assessment and tax billing purposes. It can take at least two-four weeks after a property is sold or transferred for a new owner to be recorded on assessment and tax rolls at the local municipality.
