Privacy Policy

The Village restricts its use of “cookies”, which are text files containing information about a user that is stored by a web server on that user’s computer, usually without their knowledge or consent. These web sites will use cookies exclusively to keep track of items in your shopping cart. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, either automatically or through your manual consent. While you may still use these web sites if you reject cookies, these web sites will no longer recognize your account or items in your shopping cart and, therefore, you will not be able to complete any online order.

There may be areas in these web sites through which the user may submit his or her e-mail address, for example, to obtain information or to contact the Village. The Village will not use the e-mail address submitted by the user for any purpose other than that for which the user has submitted the address, which includes forwarding the e-mail to another government agency or person who may be able to respond to the request, and, unless required by law, the Village will not disclose the e-mail address to any other third party.

There may be areas in these web sites through which the user may choose to submit personally identifying information (including, but not limited to, the user’s name, address, e-mail address, phone number(s), vehicle license plate number, date of birth, and credit card and/or bank account information) to request services. The Village will treat and use this information as if the user personally disclosed the information during a visit to Village Hall or other Village agency or department. In such cases, the Village will use and/or disseminate such information as the Village deems appropriate. Please be aware that the submission of this information by the user may cause such information to become public record, and, if not otherwise protected by state and/or federal law, such records may be subject to public inspection, copying, reproduction and/or public dissemination.

For certain transactions, the user may be directed to separate web sites maintained by third parties independent from the Village. Such third parties may have their own privacy policies and may use cookies. The Village’s Privacy Policy is restricted to the Village’s web sites and shall in no way control third parties’ web sites.

In no way shall any communication made through these web sites or through the Village’s e-mail or messaging system be construed to be legal notice to the Village.

The Village reserves the right to amend or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If any substantial changes are made, the Village will attempt to notify customers through prominent notices on these web sites.
